H5N6 / H5N8 are subtypes of Influenza A virus (sometimes called bird flu virus). Although H5N8 is considered one of the less pathogenic subtypes for humans, it is beginning to become more pathogenic. Avian influenza A (H5N6 / H5N8) viruses spread mainly through wild migratory birds in Asia and Europe, causing deaths in wild birds and outbreaks in domestic poultry. It can cause infections in people from conjunctivitis and flu to pneumonia and subsequently to death. Since the mutation period of the virus is short and fast, there is no effective vaccine.

Human-to-human transmission is rare. It is usually transmitted to humans by contact with sick or dead poultry. This contact; Consumption of uncooked poultry or eggs, contact with the feces or feathers of sick animals, going to markets where poultry is sold.

Often its symptoms are breathing. Common symptoms are similar to flu: sudden onset of fever, chills, headache, cough, weakness, as well as nausea-vomiting, bone pain can be seen. The incubation period can last from a few hours to 2-3 days.
